Title: GE/Jasco 26931 smart motion switch
Post by: RonV42 on April 07, 2018, 03:52:55 pm
I added the GE smart motion switch to the Vera using a generic device because I was not able to find one.  Now I see three devices in the Vera dashboard:

With the documentation so slim on their web site other than saying advanced control is dependent on your controller software I was wondering if there is something more specific to this switch for Vera.

Thanks...

I was doing some research and found that the switch does support parameters for changing the operating parameters of the switch but doesn't explain why Vera installed 3 devices for one switch.  I had to go though some SmartThings code on their board to see the parameters that are supported:

Here is thel link to their source:

Have you seen this thread? http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,48090.msg317727.html#msg317727 (http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,48090.msg317727.html#msg317727)
Some good info in there. I love this switch.

Thanks for the link to the thread,  seems like Jasco hasn't updated the advanced capabilities yet for this device (gong on a year?).  It would be nice if our friends at Vera provided both the Dimmer and Switch with Motion with a real device handler.

Is the Vera able to see the motion on one of the devices that was created?  If you at least have that, you can take advantage of it as a motion sensor in scenes as well as its local control of the light.  I'm curious about that.
