Title: Does the squeezebox plugin allow vera to know the status of a squeezebox?
Post by: trouty00 on January 12, 2012, 06:08:27 am
I am just about to start my vera adventure and was looking for some confirmation that the squeezebox control is able to communicate with squeezebox server to understand what the current status was for the players.

basically I want to able to trigger events on certain conditions of the squeezebox, ie turn on my amp once my squeezebox starts playing?

any thougths??

@trouty00,

I have been using Vera for about a year now. I also just picked up a squeezebox touch (well, I just hooked up my squeezebox touch, I picked it up a few months ago...  :P) and have been messing around with it tonight. So far I haven't had much luck, but part of that is probably my squeezebox setup isn't complete yet.

If squeezebox control doesn't do what you want you could check out this thread:

"squeezedVera" is a plugin for the squeezebox that looks like it will do what you want (run a scene when you hit play, etc). I am VERY interested in any Vera<->squeezebox integration so please keep me apprised. :) As for my I'll try to post anything interesting I come up with. I think @Ap15e has done all sorts of interesting things and I plan on checking them all out.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't see that you had already found that thread! Also, what I say "me apprised" I really mean the community here at large. I think there is a lot of interest in squeezebox integration.
