Post by: AgileHumor on August 16, 2014, 01:51:10 pm
Anyone have good ideas for your Imperihome Dashboard?

Here is my Foyer HP Slate 21 Dashboards:
* Home Dashboard
* Security Sensor Status
* Outside Camera/Motion
* Inside/Outdoor Temps

Also, I Included a Bedside Table Layout for small generic tablet WFTT07.

For my lighting scenes, i took a picture of the room, then used that as the background image with no icon.  Mess with the contrast a bit and you can have multiple "looks" like all-on vs. movie.

I liked it so much, i ended up doing it for a bunch of stuff:
Garage door pictures
Sonos Play3 pictures for party modes
My bed for "bedtime"
Coffee pot for "morning"

etc.

How do you get it to do multiple looks.. As in image change with state?

Less technical :-).

For different lighting scenes in the same room, I used a photo editor to change the color/contrast of the photo I used for each similar scene.  So same room picture will all light on is bright, room with lights dimmed is for movie mode, etc.  see attached.

Sure.  First... take the picture with your camera (or phone), etc... and edit as appropriate.  You'll then need to get it to your tablet somehow (I use OneDrive with my phone).
Hold down on the scene you want to edit and click on configuration
Then change the background with 'custom image'.

lastly, you need to delete the icon that will be superimposed on the image.
Go back into configuration
Change icon
select the blank icon to the right of the house.

Nice setup :)

Could not help notice that you have only 3 icons on the bottomrow, how did you clean the bottombar up?
I cannot seem to get rid of any icons.

Not sure what you mean, as there are four boxes there (4 x 2 grid).  All are customizable with text, background images/color, and icons.  To lose the icon, go into the icon selection option, and pick the blank space next to the house icon. You are basically selecting no icon by doing this.

I was thinking of the Android bottombar icons. I have several more icons down there, it all confuses the missus.

That's an Android menu bar, not an Imperihome related I believe.  Not really an Android expert though so I could be mistaken

Yepp, that I know, but not how to tweak it like in one of the first pictures in this thread. It looks so much cleaner when it is not cluttered with icons I don't use.

I've requested Imperihome dev's to allow for Imperihome to run as an Android launcher' ..and they said they would look into it...This means it becomes the android interface ( you could have a page/button with a link to the Android launcher "app"  to get to the normal UI if needed)
- I currently use an app to do this, but its not as seamless and nice and still have the Android home/back buttons taking up space...

But i see this is an option they could also do for us  and hide the Android back/home/apps buttons! - basically just show Imperihome!

Ill ask for this on their site...feel free to support this request if u agree!
https://imperihome.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/1609 - not sure if you can see this though ???

Good idea. i'm having troubles with keeping ImperiHome running on my control tablets. I have two tablets running as basically home control and on one of them ImperiHome quits and drops back to the shell a dozen times a day; on the second tablet its generally only two or three. I set up a Tasker profile to relaunch it but it doesn't seem to work for ImperiHome; the task never restarts unless it is already on top and I try to do something like go to Home or switch to a recent app in which case it IH jumps right back on top :) But if its simply running and quits Tasker never restarts it --- its as if Tasker thinks its still running.

So I'd like to see IH with a shell option

That would be so nice if this came possible. Now the missus sometimes clicks one click to much and she is on the "desktop" of the Android tab.
Having an option to keep Imperihome as the mainthing would be real cool.

Hope Imperihome devs look into that.

Ah... sorry. You can turn that off in the settings in Imperihome today!

Thanks for the tip, I used this one

works good. You can swipe down to get the bar back if you need it.
