You are running UI5 or UI7 ?

My UI5  setup is running so smooth so I don't want to take the risk with upgrading.

No problem.

That's just interesting for me to have confirmation that everything is still OK in UI5 as I have myself moved to UI7.

No other feedback ? So I assume it is working well for everybody. I will prepare a v1 for the marketplace.

v1 does not yet exist. But yes, you can overwrite beta 1 files with beta 3 files.

RFXTRX newbie question.

lolodomo, is it possible to install via app portal? and auto update? Or is manual the only way to install?

Thx in advance.

When available in the marketplace, you will install it from there and that will overwrite the old files. A new device will probably be created. Just delete it to keep only trhe old one and that should be ok. I am not sure if the old device will be considered as attached to the installed plugin. If not, due to a UI5 bug, you will have a message telling you that the plugin will be uninstalled when you will delete the device. In fact, files are not removed.
I will check the real behavior before releasing it and will tell you the procedure to follow.

This sounds really good noting I can't find any Zwave/VeraLite pool/spa temperature sensors at the moment.  Can I ask a few questions:

a) One would choose the RFXtrx433E USB 433.92MHz unit to purchase to match the frequency of a WT0122 (temperature sensor) correct?

b) I can't see where to buy a RFXtrx433E USB 433.92MHz in Australia.  Any issues do you think if I order from overseas (Europe) and use in Australia?

c) Is it OK to buy a USB extension board to put more than one USB device into the VeraLite?   i.e. I'd be adding RFXtrx433E as well as my CurrentCost connection (for solar generation / power usage monitoring)

d) Wondering if the WT0122 signal from the backyard will make it to where my VeraLite currently is, which is kind of in a room on the front side of the house (brick house), so effectively a couple of rooms to pass through.  Any options here besides having to relocate where my Veralite is?

thanks

Hi Lolodomo

Installed beta3 on UI6, still the same issues concerning manual device creation or autocreate button which is not working. Also no way you can edit a device and drop down menu are all empty.

Except that, all devices, I have 15 of them, are working fine.

Thanks

Yes wt0122 is compatible with RFXtrx433 and also my plugin. As RFXtrx is just an USB device, you can certainly buy it in Europe. You can use a hub if you have several USB devices to connect to the Vera but be careful to choose one compatible with the Vera.

OK, I need help...  Trying to use Rollertrol shades in a new setup running UI7.  Has anyone verified that they work with the Beta 3 load?  Followed all the instructions, and I can get devices to pop up with names like "RFX Window B0/005438/02", but none of the commands have any effect.

Another clue is that under "Managed Devices", when I select that line, the only command listed under the command pulldown is "Confirm pair".

Any idea?

Also, I've been having difficulty with the RFTrx Settings tab.  It's difficult to tell what's enabled, but I assume if they don't change to light green when you mouseover, they are already in that state.  Assuming that's the case, I have a hard time getting changes to stick.  If I save changes, they'll often revert back to what I had before.  Right now I'm running with just the Hasta/Rollertrol enabled.

Any help would be much appreciated, as these blinds are the main reason I bought the Veralite!

Hello!
I have installed 1.7.439 and tag "beta3". I also have RFXtrx433E. My problem is the buttons Enable / Disable in "RFXtrx settings" from Devices / RFXtrx Controller Device. I can not see if the protocol is Enabled or if its Disabled. When I hoover over the buttons, the selected status are highlighted. It looks like I can change 5 of the protocols status, and then it is full stop. When I press Save RFXtrx I get no confirmation if the Write was successfull. I have not got the plugin to Automatic find my itmes. I have 4 WT450H temperature sensors that should be covered in "beta3".
Is this a bug, or have I missed something?

Try to refresh your WEB browser cache if you did not do it after
If not, that could a new bug introduced by Vera Control in version 1.7.439.

Yes, that is true, there is only a message logged, maybe (I don't remember) a message in the list of messages in the top center zone.

That might be a consequence of your unexplained difficulty to setup receiving protocols.

Yes, nautic described by issue #2 exactly.  Also running 1.7.439.  But even "flying blind" I believe Rollertrol was enabled, because it did recognize the command and create the device.  But no functionality.  And as I said above, in the Managed Devices, the only option in the pull-down is "Confirm Pair".

Am I stuck with trying to roll back to UI5?  I've already tried that and failed, presumably because of the "upgrade flag" thing on this new device.  Reading other threads, sounds like that requires a call to Vera...

@lolodomo, any thoughts?
Anyone else having any luck with Rollertrol on any version of UI7?

Thanks!

I'm on firmware version 1.6.641 with my VeraLite...will this plugin work OK for me on this version?   I'm not sure what UI version I am running when people talk about this, however in my URL to the advance interface it has "/cmh_ui6/"?

(I note on the plugin info tab it hasn't been modified since Feb 2012)

Update:  I just noted this was a "beta" thread - my question was actually just about installing the current version of the plugin via my VeraLite which says it's version 1.1 of the plugin, and whether this will work for me...

You are running UI6.

I never released any 1.1 version of my plugin. The last version is tagged beta 3.

oh...it's just when I go to add apps (http://10.0.0.135/cmh_ui6/)  I see version 1.1 in the version column for the RFXCOM Gateway plugin...is this the one?

You are just using another plugin than mine. Sorry I cannot help on the other plugin, and that is not the right place to discuss about the other plugin.

RFXCOM plugin is for the RFXlan product.
RFXtrx plugin is for the RFXtrx product.

First question: what product are you using ?

PS: thanks for the great job btw!!

The plugin is working perfectly with UI7 1.7.388. I have not tested with 1.7.439.

More generally on UI7, you have to go through all the other sections of the forum to make your idea. Checking the changelog of version 1.7.437, it looks like a lot of bugs were fixed. Unfortunately it might remain few critical bugs (just an hypothesis as I have not tested myself version 1.7.439) that contrained me to downgrade to UI5.
The reason to upgrade to UI7 is that the user interface is better (personal point of view), few features were added (modes) and UI5 is the past while UI7 is the future for almost everybody.

Absolutely. In this case, install the right plugin (version beta 3) and do the setup (serial port configuration in particular).
I have no precise feedback from users running UI6, but it should probably work.
I have myself only tested with UI5 (1.5.622) and UI7 (1.7.388).

I don't remember the exact process for rollertrol.. Do you have a remote control paired with your rollertrol ?
Search on the forum, there were discussions in the past about rollertrol.

There is a backup button somewhere but it is not documented anymore, I don't want to mess with it (my wife would kill me... again :p)

When upgrading a VeraLite or Vera 3 to UI7, when it works well, you keep all your previous devices. So all the devices managed by the RFXtrx plugin will still be there after the upgrade.
Of course, you must do a backup before upgradin,g in case something is going wrong and you would have to downgrade.

Sounds great if you?re upgrading a Vera from UI5 to UI7, but I'm thinking about buying a new Vera Edge. Is it possible to externally backup files from my old Vera Lite and transfer them to the new Vera Edge?

EDIT: Is it possible to use RFXtrx433 with the new Vera Edge at all?!

There are explanations on the forum how to upgrade to VeraEdge. Mainly  you have do do a UI7 backup and then restore it in the Edge.

Someone said that the RFXtrx is not usable with the Edge due to a USB problem. You will have to wait for a firmware fix.
Title: WT0122

Trying to get a swimming pool thermometer WT0122 working.  What would be the Category to select in RFXDeviceController/NewDevice/Category?  I can't actually see anything that would resemble this?

Plugin version:   beta 3
RFXtrx firmware:   232
My Vera firmware version:  1.6.641

Have put plugged RFXtrx433 into my VeraLite via a powered USB hub (also used for DataMine and CurrentCost).  Controllered seems to come up and be ok (after installing Beta 3 files).  So it's just from this point on.

Here are logs (grep'ed on rfx).  Seems to have picked up a power device I see, which I'm guessing is my CurrentCost system I happen to use (it has it's own plugin) and separate USB connection.

The device creation is only automatic for this kind of device (when a message is received). So you have to keep automatic creation ... at least until the device is created.
As explained in RFXtrx433 user manual, you have to enable "FineOffset" receiving protocol for this device.

tks lolodomo - I've setup "fineOffset" (and turned off other protocols), however I'm not getting auto-creation.  Looking at the RFXtrx433E however I am noting that the YELLOW LED on it is NOT flashing when the WT0122 flashes, so I'm assuming this is highlighting the fact the RFXtrx433E is not detecting the temperature update?  The WT0122 (433.9MHz) is working in that the remote that comes with it is measuring the temperature correctly.

Any tips?  I'm on a Mac, however should I get a Windows OS running under VMWare and try to run up the "RFXmngr test program" to see if I can prove to myself the RFXtrx433E will pick up the signal?

Take care that it is not a problem of distance between your sensor and the RFXtrx.

Yes please check with RFXmngr if you can.

Hi lolodomo - I have them sitting right next to each other so should be ok.  I've got RFXmngr working, and I can see the ClearCost inputs coming in, but no WT0122 unfortunately...

Any other ideas?  Time for a support ticket to http://rfxcom.com/ to ask for some help perhaps?

I am thrilled that the plugin works well supporting both receiving and sending [for the first time] messages to the A-OK blind controllers. UI15 hopefully upgrading soon.

There is one problem: I have three blinds and use 4 channels (1,2,3 for each respective blind; and 4 to control all simultaneously).

the plugin appears to recognise any channel interchangeably (only one device is created, but the state changes regardless of which channel is selected on the multi channel remote). However commands sent only work on the blind registered to channel 1.

update: a second instance of the controller has appeared. both work but both control blind 1.

Is there a way to configure multiple devices operating on different channels? Or is this a limitation at the RFXTRX end?

cheers.

I see nothing in the SDK relative to channels for A-OK.

Hi,

I own Livolo 1gang switches (no dimmer), Rfxtrx433E (beta3, f/w 233) and Vera3 (UI7). Switches able to run 'All Off' command (to be switched off for sure). In Rfxmngr this command available, but can't find it in RFXtrx devices settings on Vera. Can plugin run All Off?

a standing alone OFF button is not available in UI7, there is only switch ON/OFF and it switches devices depending on their current state: OFF->ON or ON->OFF. Could you make OFF function equal to ALL OFF for Livolo switches next releases?

I checked again my code and I can confirm that a switch OFF command will send a group OFF while a switch ON command will send a ON/OFF toggle.

Enable the debug logs and then play with ON and then OFF and show me the messages in the logs.

@lolodomo

i am running beta 3 and just got a 4-button LightWaveRF wireless controller, model # JSJSLW206WH (device info is here http://bit.ly/1ryEJhR )

when i press the left button(s) for the first time it creates 2 devices, a light switch named RFX Light L5.0/F412A8/14 and a scene controller named RFX Remote L5.0/F412A8 with Mood 1 - 5 and Group Off buttons. When i press the right button(s) for the first time it adds a light switch named RFX Light L5.0/F412A8/13 (here is a screen shot http://bit.ly/1A9N103).

On the scene controller i have tried setting up notifications for activated and deactivated scenes 111 - 115 but none are triggered when i press any buttons.

I turned on RFX debug and looked at the log when i pressed each button, and it looks like it is activating and deactivating scenes 13 and 14. So i tried setting up notifications for those, but still no luck.

I would like to use each of the 4 buttons to trigger a different Vera scene. (It really is just a scene controller and there not light switches -- it is not connected to mains or any load -- so it seems odd that it creates switch devices)

How should i set that up? Thanks and sorry to bother you.

Just define a scene trigger with the remote device on scene activated or scene deactivated and choose scene number 13 or 14.

worked. thanks !

i was testing with the Notification tab in the remote device which did not work, but setting up the scene trigger does work. i should have tested that before bothering you. :embarrassed:

You can enable the debug logs through the plugin UI (tab Plugin settings). Any received message from the RFXtrx will then be logged.

Do a search in the forum or take a look at the Micasaverde Wiki.
You have the option to install the InfoViewer plugin if using a SSH connection is to much difficult for you.

Hi there,

I'm having problems trying to create a LWRF switch. This is the first time I've tried to create a device since moving over to UI7. No matter what I try nothing seems to work. None of the tabs in the settings menu seem to work, so I can't even enable or disable any of the options.

Any help would be appreciated.

Running beta3 on a Vera Edge (finally!) and I don't get a selection of the selected protocols, like http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,27754.msg202748.html#msg202748 .

The protocol options change color when I hover over the box, but if I click the lighter color do not stick.

I have tried to refresh the browser. Is it an error with the FW?

Also, is BlindsT0 protocol the same as "RollerTrol/Hasta" in the app? I can't get my Vera Edge with a RFXtrxE to recognize when I press my RollerTrol remote, even though I have enabled the RollerTrol/Hasta protocol. When i enable the same protocol on my VeraLite running UI5 with a RFXtrx I can see the remote presses are recognized.

Have anyone gotten a Rollertrol to work with UI7?

EDIT: Solved the issue with my Rollertrol blinds not being recognized with my Vera Edge and RFXtrxE. It seems I had RFXtrx433_Ext_236.hex FW installed. Flashed RFXtrx433_Type2_183.hex instead and now my RFXtrxE "hears" the signals from the remote!

There was still some kind of issue with the USB port in the new FW. If you want the patched FW you must e-mail suport:

Quote
Quick follow up to those customers that are using USB to Serial Adapters with VeraEdge. We've found an issue with certain adapters that may require an additional software update to allow them to communicate properly.

Please email usb@mios.com for update instructions, or to schedule an appointment with Technical Support and we'll perform the update for you, as a courtesy.

As always, thanks for your patience, understanding, and support.

Cheers,

@lolodomo Are either of the 433Mhz La Crosse TX7U (Temperature and Humidity) or TX6U (Temperature) sensors supported? Neither are listed on the compatibility chart. Thanks.

The question has to be asked to RFXCOM.

@ lolodomo the TX7U is working great but i ran into one problem. When i replaced the batteries in the sensor the plug-in created new devices (humidity and temp) for the same TX7U sensor. I do not know why.

Is there anything i can do to help debug? Thanks! (I will PM you the log)

It is quite normal that these 433MHz Sensors are given a new address when you change batteries. What I normaly do when this hapens is to copy the "altid" from the New device and paste it in to the old device and then delete the new device.

Transmit protocols are always enabled, so no protocol to enable.

Did you follow this part in the vesternet instructions: Create an "address" to pair with the Somfy RTS Blind Motor
And after that you should be able to use Up/Down commands in RFXmngr.
Use the same ID/unit code in the VERA plug-in.

I confirm, that is the normal behavior.
There is no way to distinguish new batteries and new devices. In the two cases, the physical device is choosing a new ID.

Hello !

Is there any possibility to use this kind of unit with this plugin ?

Copy from RFXmngr :
Packettype    = Lighting4
subtype       = PT2262
Sequence nbr  = 218
Code          = 5DD403
S1- S24  = 0101 1101 1101 0100 0000 0011
Pulse         = 350 usec
Signal level  = 5
------------------------------------------------
Packettype    = Lighting4
subtype       = PT2262
Sequence nbr  = 219
Code          = 5DD40C
S1- S24  = 0101 1101 1101 0100 0000 1100
Pulse         = 350 usec
Signal level  = 6

I can see that there is lighting4 in the "rfxtrx settings", but there is no lighting4 in the "New device"->"Category".

Should normally be supported by my plugin. It is a something new in version beta 3 mentioned in the release notes you can read in the first message of this topic.
PS: compatibility table in the wiki is not up to date.

You just have to save your  choice of received protocols in the Rfxtrx EPROM. There is a specific save button in the plugin for that purpose.

Thanks for a great app. Any estimate for a plugin release date in the Vera App Store?

After quite a few problems with the UI7 firmware of Vera Edge and also flashing to the latest firmware for the RFXtrxE this app is able to receive measurements from pretty much all my 433 sensors. I'm experiencing the same minor problem as n0ir explained above - it is not very easy to see what protocols are enabled/disabled. (Maybe using checkboxes could be an easy fix for this?)

Thanks again.

Display of the signal strength is not implemented in the plugin.
For the protocol, you can get it indirectly by checking the "altid" variable (advanced tab) for any child device.

When I connect my RFX-E to my laptop  I can move my sun screen (with somfy CTS) up and down. Also the sun/wind detection on/off works fine.

But when I make a windowcovering1 in the vera -lite (ui5) nothing happen.
I use the : http://www.vesternet.com/resources/application-notes/apnt-79  to make the right settings.
What can be the problem?

I found the problem already!
You have to translate the ID from the RFXmanager (hex) into Decimal when making a new device in the vera plug-in.
f.e.  10001 in the RFX manager mus be 65537 when you make the device in the vera plugin.

Have installed beta3 hoped it would resolve issue with Somfy venetians configured in 'eu' mode "lift & tilt" not working? Seems the RTS Receivers need <.5 second pulse to work properly is there an alternative plugin to suit this configuration? The only part of the plugin that works is the 'Stop/My' button other buttons up/down only operate the blind for about 2 seconds then stop?

Can you offer a solution to this?

Many thanks

Venitian mode was added in a recent RFXtrx firmware and is not yet implmented in my plugin.
Open and Ckise commands for Venitian (EU and US) could probably be added with a small effort. I add it to my TODO list but as this plugin is no more my priority, I cannot promise that I will implement the change.

My free time devoted to software programming for HA could now be more and more focussed to the openHAB project.

And this is the problem with the vera and HA in general, the plugin nature allows external programmers to make plugins that get used by lots of people but there is absolutely no security for the end user if a programmer decides to jump ship.

Hi,

Trying to get the RFXtrxE working with the Vera Edge and Somfy Blinds. After contacting support they sorted the "known" USB problem.

The up/down/open/close commands only move the blinds a very small distance. When connected to the laptops there are additional commands such as "up/down (transmit <0.5 seconds)" and these make the blinds open/close properly.

Will these commands be available in the plug-in at some point soon or is there a work-around (manually shortening the pulse) please? If not, I will return the units as I only purchased them for the Somfy blinds.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

This would require to implement a new unit option in the plugin, like for the temperature or the wind speed.

Sorry, I assumed you would have seen my previous post where I explained that some versions of Somfy blinds require a slightly different command to be sent. When using the RFXMgr software on a PC there are "extra" commands available such as up/down (Transmit <0.5 seconds). If someone has the same problem as I did (that their motor just blibs when the command is sent) then they can try this version.

What exactly changes with this file?

They replaced the standard Up/Down commands for Somfy blinds by US venetian up/down commands.
So this change will be ok only for users having only US venetian Somfy blinds.

That is clearly not the proper way to add support for EU and US venetian blinds.
The proper way would be probably the addition of a new variable setting that would set the kind of Somfy blind: standard, US venetian or EU Venetian.

Hi Mixedup,

Did you ever resolved your issues with the WT0122 and RFXCOM?  I'm running Vera3 UI5 (622) and a RFXrec433 and the beta3 plugin, and other devices show up, but not the wt0122 pool temp sensor.  I too have it placed nearby the receiver to ensure that I don't have a range issue, but it wont show up like the Oregon temp/baro/humidity units.

Any thoughts?

UPDATE: Jul-17-2015

I emailed RFXCOM, and they notified me that the RFXtrx433 & RFXrec433 are not capable of receiving WT0122 signals, only the RFXtrx433E.  I was misinterpreting the User guide.

In the RFXtrx_User_Guide section 2.2.2, the columns are not labeled very clearly and they are actually going to make some updates to clarify the following:
Type 1 refers to RFXtrx433
Type 2 refers to RFXrec433
Ext      refers to RFXtrx433E

If I had recognized that, I would not have purchased the RFXrec433 since my primary goal was to be able to monitor water temperature.  I read through the release notes for the RFXrec433 and it indicated support for the WT0122, however that apparently wasn't the case as indicated by that chart.

I'll have to investigate an exchange but it's taken awhile to work out.  Lesson learned the hard way, but I wanted to share.

To clearify:
RFXrec433 firmware is equal to RFXtrx433 - Type1 firmware without the transmit functions!

Text from the "Important-ReadMe.txt" file in the firmware zip files:
Important information about RFXtrx/rec firmware:
RFXtrx315 firmware can only be used in the RFXtrx315.
RFXrec433 firmware is only for the RFXrec433 receiver.
If you flash an RFXtrx433 or RFXtrx433E transceiver with this firmware you will disable all transmit functionality in the transceiver!
RFXtrx433-Type1 and RFXtrx433-Type2 firmware will operate in the RFXtrx433 and RFXtrx433E.
RFXtrx433-Ext firmware will only operate in the RFXtrx433E.

For the list of supported protocols see chapter 2.2.2 in the RFXtrx User Guide.
For the RFXrec433 use the Type1 column and skip transmit protocols.

Hi lolodomo,

I just upgraded to UI7 and that gave such a uge amount of problems that I decided to do a clean reintall of UI7 on my Vera Light. After that, I uploaded all 36 files of beta 3 RFXCOM into the Vera.

Only with the lua code I get a load error:
24). L_RFXtrx.lua
ERROR: Internal Server Error

Any idea why? It also happens with beta2 or alpha8 lua file. Also when I upload the Lua only and as the first file, I get this error.

Thanks in advance
Ed

Download the full ZIP file and extract the files.
Use a recent version of the plugin.

Hello lolodomo,

I'm using RFXtrx + RFXtrx Vera Edge, I would like to know if the Somfy control is limited to up/down or can I use the slide control. To open a certain % of the blind

Good work

i can confirm that slide control is not possible with the somfy blinds. i guess it's not possible with all RF, as you dont have bidirectional communication.

With some smart and easy programming you may want to simulate it yourself.

Make different scenes for 25, 50, 75% closed. Measure the time it takes the blinds to completely close. Count how many seconds for the percentages above and issue a stop command in every scene after x-seconds.

Of course since vera doesn't really know whether the blinds are closed or open, you should in every scene make a start situation. For example, first close it, delay of x-seconds, then open it 25% and stop.

Hi guys. I have a noobie question.

I own a Vera Plus and the RFX433E. I updated the FW of the rfx433E on my PC (running now 1014). And I installed the SOMFY plugin on Vera. But keep getting the assertive that I should choose the serial port of URTSI... Should I have uploaded the files contained in zip file before? I thought just the plugin would make it work. I thought the plugin would have all necessary files...
Really sorry if this is a stupid question. There is no step by step to install this and although I am trying to read all those documents, I am still having trouble on how to make everything work. By the way, I have somfy blinds (4), shades (2) and curtains (2)... Will I be able to control all of them? I have spent a lot on everything and would be devasted if not...
Thanks for any help given and thanks for Lolodomo for doing such an awesome job on trying to keep everything updated.

How does this happen?!?

Well, finally I found this (somfy plugin steps - http://wiki.mios.com/index.php/Somfy_Plugin) and reading it, my question remains: Should I install the zip files that has all the lua/loop codes? Because now I have the Somfy plugin discovered, found, and by default I suppose, two devices called blinds 1 and 2...
Now, my journey on how to discover the frequency each device of mine has...

Any help, I mean, any link with thorough steps?

Anyone???

I am assuming uploading the files from the trunk is manual install and using vera market plugin is the automatic install... Am I right?

Assuming this is true, the plugin has a version 1.21 and there is a trunk and a thread of a 1.00. Which is the most updated?

And those 2 blinds that appeared automatically, they simply don't work. So, I imagine they are like examples and not discovered automatically... So how to configure a new blind or shade?

Please, help.

I have tried to read a lot of information, but they seem to be for only programmers... And there is no consistency on them (some say baud 9600 others 38400)... And add they are old information, I mean, for UI5 and not UI7...

I don't think the two apps are the same. The RFXCOM app available via the Apps -> Install Apps tab in UI7 is different from the RFXtrx app you find at code.mios.com. The RFXCOM app may have been created by the folks at RFXCOM.com. I believe that the RFXtrx app is the most current but I don't know what the difference is between the version at trunk and the version at beta3. In any event I don't think any application for the RFXtrx433 is supported any more. If I'm wrong about this I hope someone else will respond.

Hi - I appreciate this is most likely the wrong thread, but hoping you might be able to help.

I am trying to add a new device for the RFXtrx433 - I fill out the information as
Category: RFY
Device Type: Window Covering
Device Name: Somfy blind
Id: 1
Unit Code: 1

I then click "create" and it comes up with a message in green "Vera will reload to validate changes..."

But it then just hangs - nothing happens.

Any advice on what I need to do please? Any guidance is appreciated.

Update - I logged a query with MiOS and they recommended a downgrade in the firmware. I have just downgraded from 1.7.3231 to 1.7.3014. Now I can at least create a new device to configure.

Next challenge is to connect it with the blinds!

I do not think downgrading the unit will affect your current setup. If you experience any issue we can upgrade it back. To do this, please go to Settings > Firmware > Advanced: URL for custom Vera firmware. Copy paste the following link and hit Download. Let me know how It goes.

Im hoping that someone of this forum can help me since after 2 days of messing around im becoming litte desperate...

I have 2 vera's and working with the vera for 3 years now in combination with rfxcom. Nebver had any single problem (other than datmine filling up the storage but thats not the problem).

Now i tried to upgrade my vera device from veralite to vera edge. All went fine, all devices are transferred with exception of rfxcom app. I have (in the meantime) tried to install the app from mios like 5 times but are unable to get it to work with the device despite setting port, baud rate correct etc etc. Then i have downloaden alpha, beta, trunk 153 etc. walked the normal procedure of uploading files, restart luup, crate device and never a device is created on the vera edge (latest firmware for both edge as well as the rfxcom per today).

Hooking the rfxcom to my computer... works fine, connecting it with vera lite... works fine...

Maybe someone can post like the 5 steps togo through then ill give it some more shots... :)

description i used: http://code.mios.com/trac/mios_rfxtrx/wiki/WikiStart#InstallationSetup
trunk i used: http://code.mios.com/trac/mios_rfxtrx/browser/trunk#
firmware i used: http://www.rfxcom.com/epages/78165469.sf/nl_NL/?ObjectPath=/Shops/78165469/Categories/Downloads

1 thing is strange: in serial port configuration in menu develop apps of the vera i select the bottom line "used by device" i can see all the frx devices i made thus far but they dont show up on the devices menu...

Ok this is very strange... so fed up with the gear that i erased both vera's. instead of downloading the last trunk i took the ?ld" files from my vera. logged onto the vera by means of winscp and put back the old files. Suddenly i can make the rfx controller device again and its workign (at leats receiving) still busy trying to create devices (not yet worked) but we are one step further. Conclusion: files on the internet are corrupt?

How do you use the RFXmngr to snoop out the signals? is it possible? Any tips to get started are much appreciated. Cheers Markus

Its to do with a change in the port that being used by the underlying firmware.   The issue is impacting a number of apps that need to be changed to get it working again.

I posted a note about what I'd done and it included updating the .js file for this app as well as others.

Hi There,

Sorry I am new to vera and vera community, I am trying to work Rftrx with my vera plus, at the moment under vera plus devices Rftrx showing Beta 3 version, I am trying work my 17 Dooya curtain motors with the vera, so as per my understanding to communicate with through rftrx to my wall mount receiver dooya 228A I need a remote which is dooya DC2760, (I dont have now but I have ordered one)

But there is some confusion as you can see in attached photos my sunflower motor also has a 433 Mhz frequency and transceiver 228A also have the same frequency so please help with the following scenarios.
1. can I communicate through rftrx to my curtain motor directly ? if yes please explain
2. Can I communicate directly to DC228A ? if yes please explain
3. motor and wall mount controller supplier told me I can pair dooya DC2760 to my Wall controller DC228A which is connected to motor through hard wires, but after that pairing how can I pair the DC2760 remote to Rftrx (in the Rftrx user guide DC2760 is a tested remote controller with Rftrx).
4. Suppose I pair one DC2760 remote control with one motor then RFtrx learns from the remote DC2760 so would I able to pair my other 16 curtain by pairing one by one and creating individual devices with unique with different id and unit codes ? (photo attached)
5. I have the latest version Beta 3 on vera plus, so this beta 3 version is the firmware version of Rftrx or vera plus plugin version ? and do I need to update the Rftrx firmware version as well if yes please explain how ?

Thanks

Post by: tinman on July 25, 2018, 11:01:02 am
I have never set up any blind controls but I think that you could use the remote to 'pair' with the blind motor control. If you don't plan on using the remote you could probably do the pairing using the RFXtrx through the Vera Hub. You would want to create a new device in the RFXtrx plugin interface. I suppose you could enter any ID and unit code since the motor control will learn any ID and unit code you choose. As you said, you should be able to pair as many window covering devices you want as long as you use a different ID and/or unit code for each new device you create.
I think the RFXtrx user guide lists the DC2700 as a tested device. I don't know what is different between the DC2700 and the DC2760. I was not able to find user manuals for either one on line so I don't know if they are multi-channel (multi unit code?) devices or not.
If you want to pair the DC2760 with the RFXtrx you can go to the plugin's Managed Devices page and turn on Auto Create. If the RFXtrx transceiver can decode the signal from the remote then pressing the remote buttons should cause a new device to be created. Be sure to have the BlindsT1 protocol enabled.
If your RFXtrx is working with your Vera hub I wouldn't change anything about the firmware or plugin version. If you can't get it to work, upgrading to the latest firmware and plugin might help.

The current RFXtrx433E firmware does not receive Dooya - BlindsT6 protocol remotes. The RFXtrx emulates Dooya remotes, see chapter 2 in the RFXtrx User Guide.
You can create a BlindsT6 device in the Vera using a random ID and pair this as additional remote to the motor, see also chapter 10 in the RFXtrx User Guide.

A new beta firmware for the RFXtrx433E can also receive the listed Dooya remotes. Send a request to rfxcom.com for this firmware.
