Title: Project: VeraControl (Pebble app)
Post by: RHINESEL on December 13, 2014, 08:33:15 am
Member Drewying published an app called VeraScenes for Pebble that allows you to control scenes.  The project is open source and is located at https://github.com/drewying/VeraPebble.  While it's a good app development seems to have stalled.

I have little to no knowledge for programming but am willing to help in any way to improve/grow this app.

My desire would be the following:

1. Device Control
2. Camera Display (yeah, display on a Pebble will stink but you should be able to see basics)
3. Scene control.

I just looked over some of the code and noticed a getSceneData command. Can this be altered to get the individual device data instead of the scenes?

To my (uneducated) eyes it doesn't seem to be too hard to convert or grow this app but I simply don't have the knowledge or skills necessary.  I do have a Vera 3, a Pebble, and a willingness to help out in any way I can.

Anyone want to join in on getting a full featured Pebble app?

I have a Pebble and a LG G watch. I've been using the latter more and more as the Pebble does not seem to want to display email notifications from my LG G2 phone. But if a full fledged Vera app on the Pebble will most likely cause me to swap watches when I am home if that allows me control to run scenes and control devices.

I have a programming background but I'm old school and lack the time to figure out how these new languages work. :)

Weird, I have been thinking the same thing. I also have no programming experience but was keen to start fiddling and see what I can achieve. Even if we can just scroll through all the devices would be progress.
