Title: Control the air conditioning (learning mode)
Post by: itgo on March 01, 2011, 09:53:52 am
Hello everyone, I bought Sqblaster to do some tests on air conditioners (IR Communication) .
The first experiment was done on a Toshiba. Following the instructions I sent the device in learning mode and I started programming features such as "fan", "swing/fix " and even "off", and these worked ok. The problem is on the "on" event, that even if learned by the device does not work.

Someone had my same experience?

Thank you

@itgo

Air conditioning codes are tricky. We have a project going to more effectively work with these devices. Both drive them as well as record them.

My colleague John has more experience with these devices, he is at CeBit in Hanover this week, so it may be a few days before he has a chance to comment

If you raise a ticket on www.squareconnect.com we can work more directly with you - we are currently collecting air conditioner remotes so we can correctly capture and add them to our database.... If anyone has any spare remotes, btw, i will happily pay shipping to receive them!

Similar issue here with LG air conditioner.  Can turn off but not on.  Temp toggle control is flakey, I haven't tried any more than that. Support ticket opened.

Thanks for the tickets...

I want to let everyone know, we are working on air conditioners... however, it is not a trivial problem, and it will be a while before we have a general solution.

Raising a ticket with us, with the exact model and what works/doesn't work really helps as we can target specific models and codes to crack.
