Connect Tp-Link NC220
« on: May 26, 2016, 11:38:27 pm »
I am new on this, and finally after several trials it is working. I leave here my experience connecting the Tp-link NC-220 on a Vera edge.

Surfing on the web I found the following link that make it possible to see an snapshot on a browser for this camera. (Replace yourip by the ip were the camera is connected eg. 10.0.1.30). This link works using the configuration of the camera just out of the box.

http://admin:YWRtaW4=@yourip:8080/stream/snapshot.jpg

1 The to add the camera on the Vera edge go to devices, Devices>Add Devices>Security Cameras>IP Camera Generic IP Camera.

2. Then click till the manual configuration button appears.

3 Then fill the form as follows

     Device name: your camera selected name
     IP:  http://@yourip:8080/stream/snapshot.jpg
     User name: admin
     password: YWRtaW4=
4. Click next button and that's all. You should be able to see the image of your camera inmediatley.

Note: the default password of the camera es admin but this should be embedded in 64 bits before using, that's why the password should be put on your Vera edge as YWRtaW4=
If you change your password take this into account embedding it before put it in the Vera.

Hope it can help you

Can you tell me if you have the camera connected to your network by ethernet or wireless?

I am trying to use this hint on my Tp-Link NC200 but am unable to make it work with the camera connected via WIFI.

Thanks

Thanks rmitsos for your help on TP-Link NC200.

It worked for me on my TP-Link NC200, connected by wire (i don't know if it works wirelessly either)

To have it working, i went to

- Devices -> Add device

- Security Cameras-> IP Camera (Other IP Camera)

- Next -> Next -> Next

- Manually Install Camera (advanced)

Select the IP of your camera (from the list that appears)

Then under "Manual Configuration",
   - on Camera Type, select "Other Ip Camera" (last option);
   - on Camera URL, write "http://<IP>:8080/snapshot.jpg", replacing <IP> for your camera IP address   (without quotes);
   - on Camera IP Address, repeat your camera IP address;
   - on camera username, write "admin" (without quotes);
   - on camera password, write the password for user admin in base64 format (you can use https://www.base64encode.org/ to convert it. For the default admin password (which is "admin"), the base64 password you have to insert is "YWRtaW4=" (without quotes). I advise you to change the admin password by the way :)

Press the "test button" and the picture from the camera should appear.

Name the camera and that's it!

Once again i'm not the one to thank for this solution, i just hope this step by step mini guide will help someone that is having the same difficulties i had.
