Oregon Scientific Weather Station question
« on: May 19, 2017, 09:16:05 am »
Hello everyone,

I am new to the forums, have been reading for a while from the out side...

I have recently purchased a new Vera Plus incl "RFXtrx433E USB 433.92 MHz transceiver with antenna" as a kit and a few sensors which I did not receive yet. Looking forward to start working on it and learning how things work.
While looking, I can across the "Oregon Scientific WMR86 Backyard Pro Complete Home Weather Station" which I was very fund of, I really like the fact that I can preform commands in my home according to the weather outside, for example:
  • If there is a good breeze, send me a note so I can open up a window
  • If its raining, close down the shutters
  • Cool down the house on a hot day
  • etc.

Since I haven't worked with the system yet, I was wondering if other than the RFX433, Vera and the weather station, will I need anything else for Vera to recognize these as get information off them?
I've read that there is a need for middle-ware like a computer to pull off data out of the weather station and push it on to the Vera, is that true?
